Sometimes it is just a heck of a lot of fun to look at stats and give credit where credit is due. We thought we would take a look at the 6 Divisions in Oregon High School football and see who are the current scoring champs. Now offensive production does not tell the story of the entire game. What about defense you say? Well we will look at that in next weeks feature. For right now it is enough just to look at the best of the best in terms of Offense. We are simply going to list the teams that we have found are averaging the most points per game. Bottom line who is putting the most balls over that goal line. Here they are as of 10/24/2009:

6 A Division

Sheldon Irish: 51 points a game

Sprague Oly's 48 points a game

West Salem Titans 40 points per game

Centennial Eagles 39 points per game

5 A Division

Thurston Colts 49 points per game

Hillsboro Spartans 45 points per game

4 A Division

Marist Spartans 53 points per game

Central Panthers 51 points per game

3 A Division

Cascade Christian 51 points per game

Amity Warriors 51 points per game

2 A Division

Knappa Loggers 50 points per game

Heppner Mustangs 43 points per game

Scio Loggers 42 points per game

1 A Division

St Paul Buckaroo's 59 points per game

Triad Timberwolves 59 points per game

Wallowa Panthers 58 points per game

Well there is no surprise here that these teams, for the most part, are leading their Divisions and Leagues. Wow that is a lot of scoring. We are attempting to determine which offensive systems are generating all of these points. It would be easy to say the Spread but do you think it is really the case? We will attempt to find out in next weeks installment.
