Eagle Point True Talent Peyton Dole Lands Air Force Offer
Eagle Point, Oregon is a very good place to grow up and go to school. Not far from Medford the quaint town of 8,500 has quite a history and has produced some famous people over the years. Another talented resident is spreading his wings after receiving an offer to play football for the Air Force Academy. 6’4″- 225 lb Linebacker Peyton Dole played at such a high level this season that it caught the attention of analysts and college coaches alike. We featured Peyton 3 times as a big time college prospect for having the best combination of size and speed in the Southern portion of the State.
Peyton Dole is a talented kid from Southern Oregon and is considering going to Air Force Academy for College and football.
We caught up to Peyton to discuss his Air Force offer.
“It is obviously a huge honor for me,” said Peyton. ”I spoke to the coaches a few weeks back and they were reviewing my transcripts and looking at my film. Then they came by the school after that to speak to my coaches and teachers and I had a chance to speak to Coach Mike Thiessen about the opportunity. He let me know they wanted me to come and play for them and attend the academy.”
That is not only a full ride but one of the best college degrees you can earn; something that Peyton understands would be setting him up for a career long after football ends.
How did this come about?
“My Coach, Seth Womack, packaged up my transcripts and some film and sent it out to a few schools. One of them was Air Force. That was pretty great for him to do,” said Dole who enjoyed playing for the first year Coach.
The military aspect of the offer was a little troubling at first. Peyton had to think through it and talked about that with Coach Thiessen and others. Once he looked into the benefits he became very comfortable with the opportunity. Other schools recruiting him are Oregon, Idaho , Colorado State, and some D2 schools. While he is not committed yet he is leaning towards the Falcons for sure.
Basketball has started and he is into that mode. But his season was spectacular and he went for 120 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 1 Interception. Very amazing numbers that few can equal. When he was not laying guys out he was catching balls as a receiver where he went for 601 yards and 13 TD’s on the year. That just shows his skill sets translates to both sides of the field.
He is leaning towards chemistry or criminal justice in college and will plan to make a declaration between now and signing day.
Best wishes to Peyton Dole and we know that success is waiting for him no matter where he ends up.
