South Eugene Linebacker Lands First Offer

Click In mid Summer at TrenchCamp we declared the rise of a new star player. A true two way stud that was going to be a big time college player came to camp and won his battles against the Regions best. He ended up a Camp MVP and did so against much bigger kids often being outweighed by 50-60 pounds in the camp drills. His name is Quinton Richardson and the 6'2"- 235 pound athlete is getting it done for South Eugene this year. We covered his story and some film on him here. Quinton showed that he was fast, powerful, and has that X factor that drives him to not lose a rep or a battle. A linebacker who can play defensive end and beat up on 280 pound big boys. The kid is for real folks.
Those traits led to him being utilized by Coach Chris Miller in ways to help the Axemen and to showcase his abilities. In doing so Colleges began to watch.
And that just paid off for "Q".
"I was offered by the University of Minnesota - Crookston today," said Richardson. "This is a terrific feeling and I am very excited to have this happen."
He hopes this is the first but won't be disappointed if it is the last. Getting an offer is tough; especially late in the Senior Season. But he did it and that means other schools are going to want to know more about this special kid.
"It's awesome, the Head Coach called me Wednesday night (Mike Clark) and said he an the recruiting staff really enjoyed my film and would like to offer me a scholarship with an official visit in January! It's super early and I'm hoping to receive more calls, but for now, this is a great start!"
Did you hear that everyone? Drum Roll Please --- Film - Film - Film - Film-.........FILM!
Put the work in, produce the quality of grades and effort that is required, and get film out! So many athletes and their parents are turning to others for help. Do not spend thousands and thousands on recruiting services. They will not help you. Film will. If you need a referral to honest and helpful folks who charge reasonably we have those names so call us.
Quinton talked about where he will fit at the next level and his team.
"I'm looking at playing linebacker! As far as our team our record is 2-5. We started with two solid wins and started to sleep. We have Crater tomorrow for Senior Night and were more ready than ever We're healthy. I'm excited for our last home game!"
More to follow on Quinton but this offer is one of the few offers we have seen in recent months since and a sign that things are heating up again!
Quinton appears on the list that NWPR send out every quarter and Minnesota-Crookston is a long time friend of ours. We see them as a program poised to come grab some of our best who find themselves in the middle of a football mecca where colleges recruit out of Region more then in. Send us your info here for inclusion.
